Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have finally done it — and in style! After a nine-year wait, RCB have marched into the IPL 2025 final, sending fans into a frenzy with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Qualifier 1 held tonight.
It was an absolute masterclass from Rajat Patidar’s side, who made a bold statement about their title ambitions. After winning the toss and electing to bowl, RCB’s bowlers wasted no time dismantling PBKS, who were bundled out for just 101 — the lowest ever total in an IPL playoff match.
RCB’s bowling attack came out all guns blazing. Josh Hazlewood, returning after a brief injury layoff, looked lethal as he picked up 3 wickets for 21 runs. Suyash Sharma also grabbed 3 for 18, proving once again why he’s a key piece in Bengaluru’s puzzle. Yash Dayal added two more wickets to the carnage, and PBKS crumbled under pressure.
None of the Punjab batters looked settled. Marcus Stoinis top-scored with just 26, and only Azmatullah Omarzai (18) and Prabhsimran Singh (18) joined him in double figures. It was a forgettable batting performance on the biggest stage.
RCB chased down the total like true champions, needing just 10 overs to reach 106. Phil Salt was sensational, smashing an unbeaten 56 off 27 balls, lighting up the stadium and sending a clear message to their potential final opponents.
Rajat Patidar, once again leading the team in place of Jitesh Sharma, showed sharp captaincy skills and trusted his bowling unit to do the job — and they delivered.
RCB fans — your team is finally back in the final! After heartbreaks, close calls, and endless social media memes, this squad has risen above the noise. The performance was clinical, passionate, and ruthless — just the way champions play.
Now, with one game standing between them and their maiden IPL title, Bengaluru fans can dare to dream again.
