Tensions between India and Pakistan have risen once again after the Indian Army confirmed sightings of armed drones from Pakistan at 26 locations across the country. These drone activities were reported in sensitive areas stretching from Jammu & Kashmir to Gujarat, including both the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC).

Where Were the Drones Spotted?

According to the Indian Army, Pakistani drones were seen in the following regions:

  • Jammu & Kashmir: Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Akhnoor, Udhampur
  • Punjab: Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka
  • Rajasthan: Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer
  • Gujarat: Bhuj, Kuarbet, Lakhi Nala

Blackouts Ordered for Civilian Safety

As a precaution, complete blackouts were enforced in the following locations to reduce the risk of being targeted:

  • Jammu & Kashmir: Akhnoor, Udhampur
  • Punjab: Ferozepur
  • Rajasthan: Jaisalmer
  • Haryana: Ambala, Panchkula

Citizens were advised to stay indoors, limit unnecessary movement, and follow all safety instructions from local authorities. The Army said:

“While there is no need for panic, heightened vigilance and precaution are essential.”

How Is India Responding?

The Indian Armed Forces are on high alert, using advanced counter-drone systems to detect and neutralize aerial threats. Defence forces are also keeping a close watch 24/7 on border regions.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an emergency security meeting with:

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval

  • Chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Chief of Defence Staff

They discussed strategies and India’s next steps in response to these provocative actions.

Pakistan’s Drone & Missile Attacks

Just a day earlier, Pakistan launched a series of coordinated drone and missile attacks targeting India’s western border. However, Indian defence officials confirmed that most of the attacks were intercepted successfully using systems like the S-400 missile defence system, preventing any major destruction.

Political Reactions

AAP MP Raghav Chadha criticized Pakistan, posting on X (formerly Twitter):

“Pakistan has once again proven it’s a terrorist state—firing drones into civilian areas… Innocent civilians in Punjab have been severely injured. The world must see how Pakistan is provoking India.”

India’s security agencies are now preparing for possible retaliatory measures, while the international community watches with concern. With two nuclear-armed nations involved, the situation remains tense and unpredictable.
